The Circle of Classics

It is pretty much a proven fact that 80% of a company’s business is done within 20% of its product offering.  The same can be said of suiting and sport jacketing patterns….the lion’s share sold  falls within the range of what we all consider to be classic styling.

These are the suits and jackets that make up the cornerstones of a man’s wardrobe.  They are the first suits selected for first jobs, and they are the patterns that men return to again and again. They are comfortable, always accepted and always correct.

These include stripes in the pencil, beaded, rope, chalk and crayon varieties, birdseyes, windowpanes, sharkskins, tick weaves and pin-dots, herringbones, split-basket glen plaids, prince of wales plaids and solids.

Five years ago, Gladson established its Circle of Classics program.  Simply put, the program includes books that contain these very same patterns and that are maintained for 2 to 3 years, guaranteeing continuity.  Gladson customers use these books with confidence, knowing that they can rely on stock availability.

Today there are twelve member books of the Circle of Classics Collection.  They include Trofeo® from Ermenegildo Zegna, two DiPrima collections, one all Cashmere and one a worsted spun cashmere and silk sport jacketing, Estrato® , an all wool natural stretch cloth, 7 books from Vitale Barberis Canonico:  Legacy 110s, Revenge 130s, Greenhills 160s, Winter Classics, Summer Classics, Como Super 120s sport jacketing and Blasone, “the ultimate trouser”.  Our English mill, Taylor & Stewart of Huddersfield, is represented by the Canterbury book, a remarkable blend of 120s and Cashmere.

Circle of Classics books are identified by the diagonal parallel lines on the backbone and are marked in the interior liner within.
